THE BOYS ARE BACK

Ladies and gentlemen- I'm pleased to announce that the boys are back.

After a long summer and a couple of weeks back at 285 Old Westport road, your UMass Dartmouth Corsairs have returned to make everyone else look dumb. Now before I go on any further, let me fill you in on who you'll be hearing from the next two seasons. I was born Daniel Joseph Dawley in July of 1992 to a saint of a woman and the toughest man in the world, Maryellen and Brian Dawley. I come from the mean streets of Revere (no I'm not the "baddest dude" from there I hate that video) and graduated from the Harvard of high schools, Malden Catholic. I'm #22 in your programs and most definitely #1 in your hearts and Division 3's most entertaining D-middie. Enough about The Mano though, let's touch upon America's favorite group of studs.

In all honestly, this program is the absolute depiction of one on the rise. Two seasons removed from the best season in school history (13-4, #2 seed in the LEC) and solid 10-6 record while clinching a 4th seed last year, this team shows no signs of slowing down.

Under the tutelage of head coach Kevin Mahoney, who's heading into his 9th season, and sophomore assistant Dave Beriau the boys and I are fired up to keep this climb moving up. Now that we're one week in, it seems as if things are starting to click a bit and no one's thrown up yet. I can't wait to see who does it first, but I digress. After a week of practice, a few speed & agilities sessions, and the alumni game over the weekend, the squad doesn't look too shabby. There's not an abundance of balls hitting the ground and people seem to know where they're going in drills which is always a plus. All in all, people are going hard and that's all the boys can ask for.

Sophomore Defensemen Brian Grant

It's good to see a bunch of handsome faces under helmets and not so good to see some of our gross ones, but everyone's excited to be back around. The next month should be a helluva time back on the field and back being the men.

Junior D Middies Jared Wright and Myself

Until next week though, ya boy's out from 339 Pine Hill. With that, I leave you with a quote from the great Tim Riggins, "Here's to God, and football. & in 10 years from now, Street, good friends living large in Texas. Texas forever Street."

Cheers, No regrets
